About VCMAX
VCMAX, the Ventura County Materials Exchange program, was established by the County of Ventura in late 1998; in 1999 we began publishing a small, quarterly VCMAX "Discards Available & Wanted" catalog and created our website, www.vcmax.org. The VCMAX program is part of the State's CalMAX, or California Materials Exchange, program; these free programs were designed to reduce the needless disposal of reusable materials and make recycling and reuse convenient for everyone.
Over the years the VCMAX reuse program has grown from a core of 400 participants to a database of over 2,400 participants. The Integrated Waste Managment Division sincerely hopes that the redesign of the website and the expansion of the program will make REUSE, RECYCLING, and DONATION convenient for all county residents and businesses.
